Painlevé Equations in the Midwest Conference

 

Painlevé Equations in the Midwest is just around the corner and we are glad you are joining us. The conference starts on August 23 at  2:00 pm and ends on August 24, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.  We will continue to add details to the conference schedule as they become available. 

Travel:
If traveling by air, one should fly into DTW (Detroit Metropolitan Airport).
To get from DTW to Ann Arbor, you may use one of the following:

  • Taxi (Metrocab at airport): ~$70
  • Uber/Lyft: ~$40 if not surge pricing
  • AirRide: $12-15 one way, $22-30 roundtrip. Comfortable bus with Wi-Fi. Drops off near Blake Transit Center in Ann Arbor (so might need to take a bus/Uber/taxi from BTC to the hotel after that)

If traveling by train, there is an Amtrak station in Ann Arbor (ARB)

Lodging:
Rooms are available at The Graduate Hotel at a discounted rate. These rooms will be available until August 10, 2019. When you book, please mention that you are attending this conference. If you wish to stay somewhere else, there are other lodging options. The accommodations listed below are conveniently located near I-94 and State St. just a 10-15 minute drive or bus ride from central campus.

Local information
All main talks will be in Weiser Hall, room 268, 501 Church Street. Coffee breaks will be held in the East Hall Atrium. East Hall is next door to Weiser at 500 Church St. and has Math Department on the front of the building above the doors.

Ann Arbor is walkable or you can take the bus, TheRide. It runs approximately every 10 minutes during the day, and every 30 minutes during off-peak times, until 11pm.  Fares for TheRide local bus transit are $1.50 per trip, cash only. If you do not have exact change, you can request a change card for future use.

There is public parking available at the Forest Ave Parking Garage, located at 650 S Forest Ave. The rate is $1.20 / hr payable in cash or card. There is also some metered street parking available for $1.80 / hr on Church St and E. University St, payable in quarters or with the epark app.
